The Cub Scout pack at St. Bede is a nationally chartered pack and St. Bede Church is the sponsoring organization. The Cub Scouts are dedicated to developing character in young boys and to giving real world skills all while having fun.
Cub Scouts is open to boys from 1st through 5th grade. Boys in the Cub Scouts learn to be self-reliant, work with other boys, set goals and work to achieve those goals. These are life skills that are vital for a boy’s healthy development.
Every week at the pack meeting, the boys participate in an activity which teaches them a skill and also helps them to achieve goals and earn badges in order to move up in rank. The pack also enjoys outside activities about one time a month. These include hiking and camping.
Once the boys finish Cub Scouts, they advance to the Boy Scouts. There is a Boy Scout pack that meets at St. Bede and welcomes the boys as they advance from Cub Scouts.
The Cub Scouts meet every Monday evening from 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the St. Bede School cafeteria. The Cub Scouts meet while school is in session between August and June (roughly). The Cub Scouts do not meet on Mondays that Saint Bede School is not in session. Boys can join the Cub Scouts any time during the year.
